Receiving money in Zimbabwe
A sender abroad usually needs:
- Your full name as on the account
- Your account number
- Your bank's SWIFT/BIC code
- The currency your account receives (USD or ZiG)
- Any correspondent bank details your bank specifies
Take these details from your bank's app or statement, not from a directory.
Domestic bank identifiers
| Identifier | Format | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Account number | Varies by bank | Combined with the bank's name for domestic transfers. |
| IBAN | Not used | Payments into Zimbabwe use the account number and SWIFT/BIC instead. |

Good to know
- Check which currency the account holds before asking someone to send money: a USD payment into a ZiG account may be converted.
- Many Zimbabwean banks publish separate correspondent-bank instructions for US dollar payments. Ask your bank for them.
Check a code
Checked in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to Uncle Jetlag or stored.
Uncle Jetlag Global Banking is a free reference tool, not a bank or payment service. It can't confirm that an account exists, who owns it, or that a payment will arrive. Always confirm payment details with your bank or the recipient before sending money. Never share online banking passwords, PINs or one-time codes with anyone.
