Our promise

Practical, accurate, clearly dated travel information, written with personality, never at the expense of credibility.

How we research

• Primary sources first: government immigration portals, embassy and consulate sites, official transport and tourism authorities, card-network and bank documentation, and provider terms.
• Secondary sources (news, forums, traveller reports) help us spot changes, but aren't treated as confirmation on their own.
• Hands-on testing for products such as eSIMs and travel cards before we recommend them.

Verification and labelling

Every guide carries a status:

• Verified: checked by an editor against the sources listed on the page.
• Editor review pending: written, but not yet signed off. We don't let these pages be indexed by search engines.
• Demo / placeholder: shows the structure of a future guide. Unverified details are clearly marked "verify" or "placeholder" and must not be relied on.

Visa briefs show both a Last updated date and, where applicable, the date they were checked against official sources.

Updates

Travel rules change. We review high-risk content (visas, entry rules, fees) more often than evergreen explainers, and we update the "Last updated" date only when content meaningfully changes.

Independence

Advertisers and affiliate partners never review, approve or rank our content. Recommendations are made first; commercial relationships (if any) come second and are always disclosed. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

Voice

Uncle Jetlag is the editorial voice of this publication. Humour is welcome; exaggeration about rules, costs or safety is not.
